Locally Produced Sustainable Energy for New England
We have supplied wood chip fuel for the the wood boilers at Bennington College and Mt. Wachusett Community College as well as many other facilities in New England that utilize biomass energy.
Hull Forest Products is a leading wholesaler of hardwood wood chips in New England, supplying commercial, industrial, and educational biomass heating systems with timely deliveries of clean, consistent hardwood wood chips. In addition to our wood chips produced as a lumber byproduct, we harvest hardwood pulp for chip, paper, and fiberboard markets in the U.S., Canada, and overseas.
One ton of woodchips has the energy equivalent of approximately 60 gallons of #2 heating oil, and our chip resource has the capacity to offset more than 12 million gallons of oil per year with local, homegrown, renewable energy.
Our wood chips provide the Northeast with an affordable, sustainable, domestic alternative to foreign oil. We deliver our biomass wood fuel to your facility direct from one of our three locations in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. Please note that we also have indoor storage available to keep our chips clean and dry.
Hull Forest Products offers several classes of wood fuel to meet New England’s energy needs:
- screened hardwood mill chips –no bark
- unscreened hardwood chips –no bark
- whole tree hardwood chips
- screened whole tree hardwood chips
- tree length firewood
All of the above options may be provided in softwood species as well.
Our clients have included:
- Public schools in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Mount Wachusett Community College
- The Quabbin Reservoir Visitor Center and administrative offices
- Bennington College in Vermont
- Greenhouses that utilize biomass heating
- We were chosen as the wood chip supplier for the Rhode Island Public School alternative energy project, made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Two industrial combustion system brands that currently use our wood chip fuel are Messersmith Manufacturing, based in Michigan, and Biomass Combustion Systems based in Worcester, Massachusetts. There are several different feed system configurations for each manufacturer which will determine what class of wood chip is best suited to the brand of wood boiler you choose. If your facility is considering an investment in energy savings with biomass wood fuel, you may want to consult with the manufacturers, as well as Hull Forest Products to determine what chip quality and boiler configurations are available and will work best for you.
