Ash Wide Plank Flooring

About Our Wide Plank Ash Flooring

Ash has an elasticity that makes it a wise choice for use with radiant heat, and its hardness and superior impact resistance also make it a great choice for any area of your home. Long favored for use in furniture making, wood flooring, baseball bats, and tool handles, ash is a versatile and extremely durable hardwood that is similar to white oak in its density and porosity.

Ash wood flooring can look very different depending on whether it is composed of all white sapwood, or a mix of darker heartwood and white sapwood. Ash sapwood is very white and ash heartwood, where the oldest growth lies, is pale tan to darker brown in color. Ash has a bold prominent grain. Left unstained, the unique and bold grain pattern of ash flooring really stands out, and it can resemble fingerprint swirls or the type of wood grain you typically see in faux bois.

We offer a sap grade ash floor, composed of upper grade sapwood only, for those seeking a very white floor. The sap grade flooring is available in curated widths that maximize the use of the tree. We also offer ash flooring with a natural mix of heartwood and sapwood for those seeking some color variation on their floor.

Custom made

We can make you a custom floor because we are a sawmill. We offer several different grades of Ash flooring, from sapwood only to sap/heart variations in the select, premium, and character grades, all available in varied widths. Solid or engineered, unfinished or custom prefinished with a GREENGUARD gold-certified finish, we make it just for you.

Guaranteed

Our tongue and groove wide plank ash floors are durable, making them ideal for high traffic rooms. Because ash wood is strong, straight grained, and slightly springy, it has traditionally been used for baseball bats, canoe paddles, and tool handles (and we still make ash lumber for these purposes).

We expect our wood floors to hold up to generations of use, and we offer you a lifetime quality guarantee.
