White Oak Wide Plank Flooring

About Our Wide Plank White Oak Flooring

We are one of the largest producers of white oak lumber and flooring in New England, and white oak is our best-selling wood species. Depending on the cut and grade, and also the type of finish chosen, one white oak floor can look very different from another. Oak pores absorb stain very well and a wide variety of finish tones from whitewash to white stained to midtone to dark tones can be achieved. The natural color of white oak is a tannish to brownish color with neutral undertones. To get a sense of what you like and what would look good in your space, browse our galleries to see how the different floors look with various finishes and various interior design styles.

We offer many different grades, cuts / grain patterns of white oak flooring, including plain sawn (which features iconic cathedral grain); live sawn (also known as European cut or French cut oak) which contains a mix of plain, quarter, and rift grain; and quarter sawn grain.

White Oak vs. Red Oak Floors

Custom made from our sawmill

We can make you a custom floor because we are a sawmill. Choose your plank widths and lengths, grade, and cut. Choose unfinished or prefinished. We make it just for you. We can provide the flooring to you as traditional solid wood in 3/4″ thickness, or as engineered 3/4″ thickness, which includes a 5 mm hardwood wear layer.

White Oak hardwood flooring offers excellent impact resistance. Traditionally used in ship building and timber framing, this solid hardwood flooring has a natural ability to resist rot and insect damage.
